Why Choose Alpine

Alpine Buildings create and deliver a wide range of birdproof sheds. The wide clearspan options and large bay sizes minimise poles inside the shed - perfect for machinery loading and unloading. If you need a shed that’s reliable, durable and practical then download the brochure to see how Alpine buildings can help.

There are numerous reasons to choose to build with Alpine, you can see just a few of them below.

Our Zero-Bird-Perch® rafters have been designed with the protection of your valuable equipment in mind. Bird droppings are acidic and can cause serious damage to expensive gear. They can also spread lice and create fire hazards with their nesting materials.

Alpine steel rafters are tidy, fast & easy to install. They use a simple 'slot & bolt' system, and all purlin hangers are pre-welded.

Make your shed more user-friendly with a clear span design. A clearspan structure provides you with:

  • More usable space as equipment can be stacked in
  • Less risk of damage from moving vehicles
  • Fewer foundations to dig
  • A more 'future proof' building as clearspan areas increase long-term flexibility & resale value

With the Alpine steel rafters, you also have the added benefits of the 'Hot-Box' and 'Zero-bird-perch' features.

Hot dip galvanisation is widely known to be the most reliable and predictable finish with the tidiest long-term result. The Rafters are dipped in a molten zinc bath giving an overall coating inside and out.

This results in a coating that is 2.5 times thicker than cold-formed steel which is electroplated before forming.

Alpine were the first company in New Zealand to start supplying 'truly complete' kitsets.

Building a shed can be a brain drain if you aren’t sure where to start. With Alpine, all materials are provided except the concrete and any concrete related components. We will provide all screws, bolts, nails, and all other components you require.

All kitsets are triple checked in our yard for accuracy and all components labelled clearly. The kitset comes with full instructions and easy to read plans.

We’ve had a lot of excellent feedback from builders using our kitsets. They love how simple they are to build, how much time they can save and how easy and hassle-free the whole process is, from design to delivery.

Alpine offers you free delivery direct to your site (conditions apply). All kitsets are delivered tidy and organised.

We deliver over 5 buildings throughout NZ every week. We can deliver right from Cape Reinga down to Bluff, and have even supplied kitsets to other locations such as the Chatham, Great Barrier, Stewart & Waiheke Islands.

The team at Alpine take great pride in having well-loaded units. If you have already had a kitset delivered to your place, you will know that you get updates as the kitset leaves our yard, and further updates while it's in transit.

We get the building consent, making the process easier for you.

Our experienced team does a number of building consents every week and have worked with every council in New Zealand. This saves you time & hassle and the councils like it as they deal with one party.

Our team at Alpine understand that things can change fast and often people need sheds 'yesterday'! Our aim is to be as flexible as possible so, during the building consent process, the team at Alpine keep in touch so we know what your situation is. Some clients want delivery as soon as possible once the building consent is out, and others have delays or different delivery requirements if things do change. At Alpine, we give you up to 6 months to take delivery of your shed at the signed contract price.

All timber from Alpine is strip-stacked to pre-dry before it goes through a reselection process. The end result is that you get lighter, straighter and stronger wood that is easier and safer to build with.

If you are looking for the fastest, safest long-term investment ensure you choose Alpine.

After a long time in the building industry, Alpine Industries was started by the current owners in the early 1990’s manufacturing letterboxes and doing general building work, which quickly progressed to kitset farm buildings. We are a family owned business, with the founding director having more than 35 years of practical experience.

Alpine was the first company in New Zealand to supply ‘truly complete’ kitset sheds. We still continue this tradition of excellence, and continuous development takes place to ensure our sheds are the easiest and fastest on the market to install.

Being 100% kiwi owned and operated, we understand the NZ conditions which ensures you of a robust shed that is able to withstand the NZ's weather extremes.

The market-leading Hot-Box Rafter system is proof that while Alpine has the experience, we are an agile team that is dedicated to continuous improvement.

With Alpine, you can have tomorrow's designs today and high quality shed that is built for the future.

We place great importance on having team members that are highly trained and experienced. Our design team are innovative and motivated individuals who work closely with engineers & councils to design and consent projects nationwide.

This enables a clear line of communication and ensures that you always know what you are paying for.

All of our sheds are designed for the wind and snow loads at your specific location.  Every project has a number of elements that affect how the shed needs to be designed. These factors can include the following:

  • Snow loads
  • Wind zone
  • Terrain / Height above sea level
  • Salt spray / Exposure zone
  • Earthquake zone

With Alpine, you can rest assured that your shed will be designed especially to suit your proposed site location.

The original Gable Steel Rafter clearspan building range has been tried and proven for many years. Including in some of NZ most extreme wind and snow loadings.

There are many benefits to using timber framing, and some may surprise you;

  • Timber framing serves for better noise reduction than an ‘all steel shed’ as the cladding is fixed to timber rather than direct to steel.
  • Depending on the quality of the steel and coating, steel framing may end up rusting over time.
  • Wood has a better structural tolerance in extreme heat than steel.
  • Timber is more environmentally friendly in numerous ways.
  • When wiring for electricity timber is a lot easier, cost-effective and safer to work with.
  • Another great advantage of timber framing is that it allows for easy internal fit-out. The timber means you can simply nail in any additional extras such as plywood lining, shelves or hooks.
