THE ULTIMATE

Alpine | Attika Updates

Liam Miskelly - Alpine CAD  Technician

Alpine Design has been making some big improves to our plans over the past couple months.

The implementation of Revit has made Jordan and I's working lives much easier, despite it being more technical!
It's been a mostly smooth journey but due to the differences there's needed to be a lot of refinement to both the plans and our brains.
Any who knew what the plans looked like in SOLIDWORKS compared to new Revit plans can see quite the difference.
This change has made our plans look much more professional and it's a huge improvement, despite how often the PMs glare at us!

The doors have been opened to the sort of projects we can now tackle, both due to better ways to navigate it and because of better efficiencies, main one being the loading times.
Revit differs to SOLIDWORKS in many ways, but the main one is that we no longer work off a "prebuild" shed model with poles, girts, purlins, etc. that we have to manually unhide things like doors & windows.
The way Revit works is that we have to design it from scratch, drawing each part of the shed pretty much manually, though certain repetitive tasks can be sped up.
Despite that we still tend to draw jobs at least 5-10% quicker and this is only after using the software for a under a year!
To compare, we've been using SOLIDWORKS at Alpine for 7 years, definitely was time for a change!

The main take away is that it's allowed us to keep better control of our job flows and stay on-top of the mountain of jobs we've received this year!
So with all that being said, simply put we here at Alpine Design are quite happy with these developments and can't wait to see how much more we can improve our area of the business!

Angelique Van Wyk - Company Accountant

Awesome to see Attika land another big win this week, with a $2.57 million project sold. Huge effort from Vern and the team. It's great to see all the hard work turning into results!

Over in Finance, we've been diving headfirst into the world of AI. It's pretty incredible how quickly these tools are evolving and what they can already do. We're actively finding ways AI can help automate some of our more repetitive and time-consuming tasks, giving us more time to focus on analysis, problem-solving, and projects that add real value to the business.

Our new favourite question is:

"Before I do this task, could AI do it for me instead?"

Some people worry AI is coming for their job. We prefer to think of it as a very enthusiastic new team member.

AI is like a new team member. It works 24/7, never takes annual leave, but occasionally needs reminding that glue isn't a building material and emails shouldn't start with "Dear Human". 😄

The goal isn't to replace people. It's to free up more of our time so we can focus on the interesting stuff, make better decisions, and help the business continue to grow.

Who knows, if AI keeps improving at this pace, next month's Finance update might be written by AI. Don't worry though, we'll still be proofreading it for any suggestions involving glue, duct tape, or world domination. 🤖📊😄

What a result for Alpine — target smashed! 🎯

A massive team effort and a great example of what happens when everyone gets behind the goal.

And we’re not done yet — Attika is closing in fast.

One target down. One within reach. Let’s finish strong. 🚀
