Susan Greenwood and John Walker had been thinking about building a shed for some time, but it was the 2023 floods that convinced them.

Their existing setup wasn't enough to properly protect John's implements, and the couple wanted a shed that could cover their wider storage needs at the same time.

Susan and John came across Alpine at Fieldays in 2024, having never seen one of the sheds before. What caught John's attention was something specific: the beams weren't held together with TEK screws.

"John was particularly impressed with the fact that there were no TEK screws in the beams with the Alpine sheds," Susan says. "We're in a high wind zone here, and the fact that there were no TEK screws was a really winning point for us."

That attention to construction detail, paired with Alpine's reputation for quality, was enough to convince them - even though the brand was entirely new to them at the time.

Susan and John had a clear brief, and it went beyond a straightforward implement shed.

 Pest and Bird-Proofing. With machinery, horse floats, and a classic car to protect, keeping the shed genuinely free from birds and pests was non-negotiable.

"We wanted a pest-free environment, particularly for the old car," Susan says. "So Alpine really came through on that front - we're impressed with their pest-proofing, and the fact that we can't have any birds in here."

 A Custom Lean-To Addition. Alongside the main shed, Alpine designed a dedicated lean-to area for horse yards, drawing on lessons from previous builds.

"Alpine were really great at providing us with a lean-to option, with some ideas on what had happened previously in previous builds, on how to make that a success," Susan says.

 Multi-purpose Building. Alongside implement storage, the shed includes a car hoist and workshop bench area – providing a proper multi-use space for the whole property.

Alpine took care of the council consent process from start to finish, something the couple were glad not to have to manage themselves. TC Shed Builders carried out the construction, with Travis leading on-site. Susan and John were highly impressed with how the whole process came together.

"We found the process fairly seamless, and we were pleased that we didn't have to be involved with it,"  Susan says. "Any discrepancies or issues were sorted out really quickly. The kit set arrived on time and in spec, with no issues along the way."

"We were very, very impressed with the speed at which Travis' team got the shed put up, and his relationship with Alpine made things really seamless," Susan adds.

 What they ended up with is more than storage. It's a shed that's earned its place on the property - solid,  built to last, and something to be genuinely proud of.
