Mike Wright — Mike Wright Construction, Canterbury

Mike Wright runs Mike Wright Construction out of Canterbury. He's been on the tools for close to twenty years, building sheds, and not just Alpine ones.

As an independent contractor, he isn't tied to a single supplier. He builds what the client wants, which means he's put up nearly every shed brand on the market and knows the difference between a shed that's built to last and one that isn't.

For Mike, it comes down to one thing: no surprises. He's watched clients elsewhere get blindsided by costs that only surface after the contract's signed.

"The product looked great, but once it went through council and engineering got involved, the guy was looking at an extra $20,000 to $30,000 for his foundations."

With Alpine, he says that work is already done before the quote lands.

"Alpine have already done the homework on your location, on your wind conditions, snow conditions. All those things are taken into consideration when you get your quote. It's an open book, and there are no surprises."

Simple Foundation Requirements.  Alpine's pole sheds have simple foundations, compared to all-steel sheds.

"They're a very, very strong building, and consequently the foundations are simple and relatively inexpensive compared to a lot of other models out there."

Quality Pre-dried Timber.  Mike's dealt with plenty of timber that's green, heavy and warped. Alpine's timber is pre-dried and triple-checked to ensure quality control from the start.

"It's all A1, top-quality product," he says, "Whereas other products, when you get your pack of timber, it comes out green, and it's heavy. We're picking them up, and they're breaking in half." 

Bolted and Welded Connections.  "With these guys, it's all just screwed and bolted, and for my money, way stronger and more efficient." 

Good Service.  For Mike, it's not just about the finished product, but also the process throughout the project.

"They've got great systems, a great bunch of guys down there, and they're so easy to deal with." 

After nearly twenty years building sheds from multiple suppliers as an independent contractor, Mike still recommends Alpine, and still points his own clients toward it.

"Every time we do these (an Alpine shed), it makes me realise how good these guys are." For him, it stays simple: "There's no surprises, and I think at the end of the day, that's what clients want. They don't want surprises."
